Suitable for children in Reception to Year 6 (KS1 & KS2)
After a really enjoyable Cricket & Craft Camp at the back end of the summer holidays, we've decided to run a pop-up Half Term Camp and we would love it if your children would like to join us!
We hope you will agree that we have created a fun-filled day of sport or crafty creativity, giving children the chance to be active, get creative, make new friends and try something different in a friendly and supportive environment.
Our camp is designed to be welcoming to all abilities. Whether your child is already sporty and loves being outdoors, enjoys making and creating, or simply likes having a go at new things, there will be plenty for them to enjoy.
SPORTS CAMP
Our sports sessions are led by Lawrie from Growth Academy, who creates an encouraging and inclusive environment where children can be active, learn new skills and, most importantly, have fun.
If the weather is good and the ground is dry, the children will enjoy a session of Cricket, with plenty of opportunities to learn, practise and play together.
We’ll also introduce the children to a variety of other sports and games, including:
Dodgeball / Rounders / Football / Tennis / Capture the flag.... and many more!
If the weather is wet, we have a plan in place to keep the children active and having fun. Depending on the conditions, we may use our indoor space or head down the road to Curzon School, where the children can on the field or if its absolutely ghastly weather they can take part in a range of fun indoor team games and activities, such as bench ball, net games and a variety of other games.
The emphasis throughout the day is on participation, teamwork and enjoyment rather than competition, so children can join in at their own level and feel confident having a go.
WHAT TO BRING
Please make sure your child brings:
A packed lunch
Plenty of water
"Sporty" clothing
Clothing suitable for the weather
Comfortable footwear
A waterproof coat if rain is forecast
A change of clothes (if we get rained on badly!)
Studded boots can be with you on the day but can't be your main source of footwear.
CRAFT CAMP
Our creative sessions are led by Jules Cossins of Where Inspiration Blooms. Jules brings lots of hands-on making, imagination and a little bit of seasonal magic to the day.
The children will enjoy a range of autumn-inspired creative projects, with activities designed to encourage them to experiment with different materials and techniques while creating things they can be proud of. Expect plenty of autumn colour, nature-inspired ideas and perhaps even a little Halloween fun thrown in too!
No previous creative experience is needed. The activities are designed to be accessible, enjoyable and achievable, with children encouraged to put their own ideas and personality into what they make.
ON THE DAY
The day will have a relaxed but structured rhythm, with a mixture of active and creative sessions but also break times so the kids can socialise with their friends.
Morning session 1: Sports and creative activities
Morning break
Morning session 2: Sports and creative activities
Lunch: 1-hour lunch break
Afternoon: Sports and creative activities/team game
Activities may vary depending on the weather and the interests and energy levels of the group, but children will have a clear programme for the day and be supported by our experienced team.
WHAT TO BRING
Please make sure your child brings:
A packed lunch
Plenty of water
Comfortable clothing suitable for being active
Clothing suitable for the weather
Comfortable footwear
A waterproof coat if rain is forecast
We recommend clothing that children can move, play and get creative in, as there may be the occasional splash of paint or muddy patch along the way!
We want your children to finish the day having had a brilliant time, tried something new and made some happy memories.
With a mixture of sport, creativity, outdoor activity and (in case of bad weather) indoor games, we hope there is something for everyone — all in a friendly, supportive environment where children are encouraged to join in, have a go and enjoy themselves.
